NEW TEACHER
GRANT
The school was very lucky to recieve a grant as part of the Summer Works Scheme. The work took place over the holidays and we are delighted with the water drainage, reseeding and resurfacing of the front yard. This will help greatly with drainage and the overall appearance of our school.
COMMUNION
Please note the date for Communion this year has been arranged for Sunday May the 15th.
SWIMMING
Swimming will take place after Christmas this year.
WEDDING
We wish every happiness and good wishes to Ms. Fallon on her wedding day.
ARMY VISIT
The army visited our school to present the National flag to us. Rachel
Murray & Tom Óg Reddington helped to read out a section of the
Proclamation of Independence. Along with all other schools in the
country, we will raise the flag on March 16th 2016 to commemorate the
centenary of the 1916 Rising.
FOOTBALL SKILLS
3 boys & 3 girls from 5th & 6th class were picked to represet the school and county in a display of football skills. Thanks to Jim and Mattie for bringing them to Ballyhaunis.
ROAD SAFETY TALK
A guest speaker spoke to the children about road safety. Most of the older children were surprised that they still need a booster seat and that drivers could recieve 3 penalty points if caught without it.
GAA
The children put in a great effort to make signs and banners for the county final between St Ciarans and Glaveys. Hard luck Fuerty.
