The retirements of Mrs. Spillane and Mr. Fallon were celebrated at Sunday morning mass on the 11th October 2009. The mass was made all the more special by the involvement of pupils during the offertory and prayers of the faithful. Ms. Murphy made special presentations of Bog Oak pieces to Mrs. Spillane and Mr. Fallon. Fr. Leogue spoke in great praise of the long years of dedicated service both teachers had given to the children of Fuerty. Children from the school presented their teachers with flowers and art work the school's pupils had created for the occasion. After mass a considerable attendance enjoyed refreshments provided by the Parents' Association.
