On Wednesday 24th June the Parents' Association held an open evening in the school. This evening was to allow parents to view the new extension, to showcase the students art in an art exhibition and to pay tribute to Mr. Fallon and Mrs Spillane in their last days teaching in Fuerty NS. A great crowd gathered for the event which included music and songs from the infant room, the art exhibition and presentation to the retiring teachers on behalf of the parents and pupils. Great credit must be given to the parents, teachers and staff of the school for their voluntary efforts to ensure the evening was a success. To top off the evening the girls of 5th and 6th classes brought home the trophy as winners of the Cumann na mBunscol girls division 1 camogie final. A fitting tribute to Mr. Fallon's last outing in the tournament.
